NRM PLAN FOR EVERY VILLAGE

  • Preparation and implementation of NRM plans for every village

Outputs

  • Comprehensive NRM plans for 400 villages and simple plans for the remaining
  • More than 7,000 activities have been implemented
  • 6,017 water conservation structures with a combined storage capacity of 66,02,141 cubic meters have been constructed.
  • PBRs prepared for 310 villages

Outcomes

  • More than 50,467 Hectare of land rejuvenated by communities through soil and water conservation interventions
  • Significant improvement of water availability for 59,000+ HH across the project
  • For first time, comprehensive mapping of biological resources through PBR

BUILDING A CADRE OF COMMUNITY PROFESSIONALS

  • Leveraging on the strong social capital to create community professionals to champion Climate Change Actions and NRM
  • 2 to 3 youth (Village Community Facilitators) in every village identified by the community and given comprehensive training. At least 1 female

Outputs

  • 2 days awareness program in all 6,000+ villages
  • 13,000+ VCFs trained
  • 3 days comprehensive residential training

Outcomes

  • VCFs are now engaged to facilitate the implementation of several govt. programs including CLLMP, FMP, PES, MegLIFE, Digital Agriculture, FOCUS etc
  • Scale up by the state – Creation of Village Data Volunteers in every village – 1,000+ already onboarded

COMMUNITY NURSERIES

  • Bridging the gap between requirement and availability of plantation material
  • Decentralised and managed by communities
  • Augmented by composting units
  • Generation of livelihood opportunity

Outputs

  • 765 community nurseries created
  • 40 lakhs saplings raised annually
  • 240 composting units established
  • 8,700+ Kgs of compost produced

Outcomes

  • Saplings have been use to supplement requirements in 12,000 Ha of afforested sites
  • Rs.40 Lakhs generated as additional income from sale of saplings with a potential of up to Rs.4 crores
